Hey gang, it’s that funky flash man, Jordan, here. You may know the story behind the name “Hot Cakes Comics.” If not, basically, I own a shirt that says “hot cakes” and it earned me the nick name a few years ago. Well, here’s where it gets cool.
The shirt was actually for a band called the Darkness. They are British, but had a big hit here in America with “I Believe in a Thing Called Love.” Yes, you know that one, go ahead and listen to it, if you want. Back? Awesome.
Anyway, over the weekend, something amazing happened. I went to a Darkness show, and I met the Darkness themselves.
What does this have to do with the comic biz? Nothing, really. But, I finally got to meet, in a sense, my maker. Without these guys, there would be no shirt. And without that shirt, we wouldn’t be who we are now. It was a great moment for me (and hopefully them; they called me sexy.)
It was intimidating and exciting, and I’ve come full circle. What a life for a simple writer.
